China’s Ministry of Emergency Management (MEM) has recently proposed the addition of five chemicals to the Catalog of Hazardous Chemicals. The proposal, which includes the names, CAS numbers, and hazard classifications of the substances, has been released for public consultation.

Any substance that is listed in the Catalog of Hazardous Chemicals or meets the identification criteria for hazardous classification is officially recognized as a hazardous chemical.
