China's Catalog of Hazardous Chemicals: Five Chemicals Proposed for Inclusion, Public Comments Solicited
On January 21, 2026, China's Ministry of Emergency Management, in collaboration with nine other ministries, including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Public Security, and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, made a statement. In compliance with the relevant requirements of the Regulations on the Safety Management of Hazardous compounds, the announcement proposes to add five compounds to the Catalog of Hazardous Chemicals, with the goal of further strengthening the control of safety hazards connected with hazardous chemicals. This proposal is now open for public feedback. Furthermore, the Ministry of Emergency Management plans to supplement and improve the Hazardous Chemicals Classification Information Table.
