In its 13th authorization recommendation, published on February 2, 2026, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) suggested adding four Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) to the REACH Authorization List. Businesses have until May 2, 2026, to provide usage data and feedback. Businesses that use these drugs will therefore need to apply for special authorization if the plan is accepted.

The method states that the European Commission will ultimately decide what is included in the Authorization List and how each substance is to be used. If a chemical is on the list, businesses must get permission to use or sell it within the European Economic Area (EEA) before the deadline.
